Your goal is to write a proposal for designing a novel robot to solve an existing (or hypothesized-to-soon-exist) problem, describing it in a short answer form, not to exceed one page of font-size 10 text, using the template below. Try to succinctly answer the following questions:
Assume you could build any robot you want, what would it do?
How is this currently done and what are the limits of current practice?
What’s new in your approach and why do you think it will be successful?
Who cares? Who will it make a difference for?
What are the risks and payoffs?
How would you check that it works?
Your goal is to create a write-up that answers all of the above questions in a consistent and clear manner. That is, try to answer every question while remaining faithful to what the robot would do. Don’t hesitate to go back to change previous answers, for example if you realize that what your robot does has nobody who cares, or there aren’t any payoffs, or you could not introduce measures to verify if it works.
